Every year I like to set myself a project to do to challenge myself. This year its up a mountain in the Flinders Ranges hence the name "on the edge". So far its been extremely challenging. Once I drive all the way to my location its a massive walk up and out and I am either walking up or down in the dark. The most challenging though is the wind conditions which are rarely correct, and I find myself walking all the way up and find out its just to windy for what I want to do. I am shooting alot of grass trees and any breathe of wind is painful to work with, with these particular trees. When everything comes together its just magic and makes it all worth while again. I have only released a couple of shots so far and am waiting until I have finshed the project before I show them all. I have been staying at the location for 2 days at a time to utilise sunrise and sunset as I generally go up twice and last trip I went up 3 times and struggled the 3rd time as I was really tired. Its amazing what a banana and bag of snakes will do to boost energy just enough to get you through. I need a donkey to carry all my shit up that hill! The good thing is I am super fit from all the weight I carry (camera bag) and walking I am doing and thats gotta be a plus.
