Late last year I was approached by a Professor at Western Sydney University inviting me to contribute a chapter in a book that is currently underway called the Handbook of Women and Outdoor Learning. I was a bit dubious about writing a chapter. I actually thought to myself what have I got to offer that people want to read about. Upon talking to Tonia on the phone I actually have quite a bit to contrbute about my quiet journey to the top of my profession from start to now. I wont say finish because I am definately not there yet!
The other concern was that I am not a writer and was not sure where to start or how to put it down and this is still a concern for me but I have decided to give it go as Tonia said to me its time we got up and told our stories as strong independant women. Although I am the only photographer invited to contrbute there are a few other creative and academic women writing their stories also.
I am currently writing my chapter with no title at this stage I trust that will come to me as I keep writing.
One of my images possibly my image called 'GRAVEYARD' which was a finalist in the National Geographic Competition in 2013 will also be used on the cover of this book which I believe should be published later in the year.
IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?
