Julie,

Wow, what an amazing week with a passionate photographer. Such beautiful landscapes and an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to go back to the red centre.

Warmest Steve

What a fantastic experience!  Great teachers, great location and a great group of people.  Admittedly, I was in over my head with regards to experience and knowledge, but with the tutoring of the wonderful Julie and Georgina, I certainly came away from the workshop with a great deal more knowledge, ideas for creativity in photography and a yearning to put it all into practice!  Interesting, inspirational – never boring, we hit the ground running and I came home exhaustedJ.  Let’s make it an annual event so I can do it all again…..please????

Hi guys,

workshop 1

A quick note so say how much I enjoyed the workshop. It was fun, full on and informative. I learned so much from both of you. The food was excellent and the location was just breathtaking. So many birds and the walking tracks although tough at times were worth every step I took. I am so glad I made the effort as I really wanted to improve my landscapes unlike a couple of people that complained constantly and really were not there for the right reasons and should have stayed home. We knew what we signed up for from your extensive trip notes.

Thankyou again Julie and Georgina

Hi Julie,

Thank you again for making the Red Centre Trip 2019 such a special experience.  I loved every moment — so much that I would be strongly tempted to do that trip all over again one day, just for the fun of it.  Magnificent locations, a carefully designed program that got us to the best places at the best time of day without making us feel rushed or exhausted, with much helpful photographic encouragement and inspiration along the way — what could be better?  I am still smiling at the memories as I sort through my photos and dream of doing more trips like this.

All true!  And the company couldn’t have been better — so much fun and laughter as well as photography.

Thank you!  Andrée Lawrey, Canberra, Australia

I am currently planning a 3 day workshop for beginners to intermediate photo enthusiasts at the Breakaways in Coober Pedy South Australia.
The dates are August 30th to Sept 2nd 2019 so not far away.
Why here?? This is a great place to learn about the importance of lens choice and composition. Its challenging, stunning and fun and easy to get too from Coober Pedy. We will do a mine tour also for fun and check out the town in our free time.
There will be some post production tuition included in this workshop which will help you understand how to get the best out of a RAW file.
The details will be online on my website soon and bookings can be done there also.
You can also do a scenic flight over the region and to Lake Eyre if you want to add this into your itinary so its a great place to base yourself.
Anyone interested in coming along? Subscribe to my newsletter and get notified once its finalised and online.

Hope to see you there.

Another year in the centre and it was a great trip with a small group of people. We had a really good time and a lot of laughs. I do believe that everyone took something away from the week of photography and learning. The red Centre has so much to offer and challenging areas to photograph as well as some easier ones. Overall its just stunning and great to be out with like minded people exploring and enjoying life and not taking things to seriously. Thankyou to my group for making this trip brilliant.

Please visit my testimonials page to see what other people have said about this trip.

For the first time I have structured a landscape and bird photography workshop with a friend of mine and excellent bird photographer Georgina Steytler. Together we pooled our knowledge and provided an enormous amount of guidence and tuition over 2 jonres streamlining trips from one workshop to the other running two back to back. This area is renound for birds and is also incredible for landscapes but requires a level of fitness to be able to access the best locations for landscapes with several big walks. Please read all trip notes before booking.

This trip was an excellent way of pushing yourself out of your comfort zones if you are open to it learning about new techniques and approaches to your subjects. Using light is another subject we also talk about and demonstrate constantly making you step away from your comfort zones. A union of both light and composition to create magic with both birds and landscapes.

Hi Julie/Georgina , Lorraine here, back home as of last night. When we left Lamington National Park we went to Brisbane to see family. I want/need to express my extreme gratitude to you Julie, Georgina and the group for one of my best times 'in the whole wide world'. When I decided to go, on one hand I was so excited, so much so that when I thought about it I got tears in my eyes. Can you believe that?  Dickhead! On the other hand I was so (there's that word again - so) nervous as I class myself as a raw beginner as a photographer, and I hoped that this would not frustrate yourself, Georgina and the group. I was so far off the mark. Your's and Georgina's efforts and encouragement made me feel nearly, and I stress 'nearly' like a photographer who knew more that I thought I did. No kidding.  I know I have a long way, but I have a lot of years ahead of me yet. Who knows maybe you might read my name somewhere - and I don't mean the obituaries ?. As for the group? What a group! To get a group of unknown people together in such a small area and work and help together like you did. Wow! Thanks.

Lorraine Gordon

Kangaroo Island workshop 2018

Hi Julie, Just a short note to say how much we (Paul joins with me in these remarks) enjoyed the Kangaroo Island workshop. You have a wonderful eye for a photograph of course, but your workshops give the amateur access to great places at great times to take exceptional photos.…

Flinders Ranges South Australia Photo Tour 2014

TESTIMONIAL In August 2014 I participated in a Photography Tour to the Flinders Ranges with Len Metcalf and Julie Fletcher. I am a pretty inexperienced photographer and so this was to be a sharp but comfortable learning curve for me. It was a wonderful experience with both photographers but I…
