Where does one start - well my one wish was to learn how to use my camera on manual mode !
My impression of Julie prior to the tour to a week after finishing has been nothing but professional – at the same time I was very much a beginner and at no time did I ever feel as though I was less knowledgeable than anyone else.
Julie was always happy to help with either information, settings, help with composition, lighting and always praising me – which made my 4 days a remarkable experience.
For anyone reading this – Yes I am still using my camera on manual mode!!!!!
ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture, and Histogram have become well known words in my vocabulary.
Not forgetting the following words : composition, hard and soft light, shadows, focus, bracketing, white balance, tripod, light meter, depth of field, and also finally LIGHTROOM !!!!!
Does brain drain come into this !!!!!
Early morning starts – fully packed days – lots of laughs, great company, information, assistance, amazing photos, and great meals – all in all a total success – if you have ever wished
to improve your photography I would firmly recommend doing a Julie Fletcher Photography Tour.
Until we meet again – hopefully sooner than later

There a several reasons why people come to my workshops and tours. Aside from photography, these are social events for photographers. And it depends on the needs of the group and individual clients. Software interpretations, how to see, what to look for, workflow, making friends, feeling safe in a group environment, being taken to locations at the right time and local knowledge these are just a few of the elements that are integral in a photo workshop.
Some people just like to relax and switch off from their busy lives and have some "me" time.
The main benefit is to have people leave with new skills and the knowledge they can take with them to apply to future images and locations, and to have knowledge of these locations so that if they return on their own, they’ll know how to get around and how to deal with different light, landscapes and environments.
