MY NEWS AND ESCAPADES

In September I grace the cover of this magazine with a shot of Lake Eyre and there is also a bit of a write up on my recent wins in ANZANG with a picture of my winning landscape image Spirit in country. This year I won 2 categories the landscape and the potfolio category.

Out of all my tours this would have to be the most challenging for me. The Flinders is dangerous for kangaroos and emus and at the moment due to the lack of culling it is super dangerous. I was challenged on every level on this trip and although my car is set up for this environment it is still very stressful driving the roads. I hit 2 roos damaged an indicator lamp and knocked off my number plate off on this trip. As they say the show must go on and that it did. I am super confident but also cautious on the roads, you panic out here and its a death sentence. Slow and steady is the way it has to go in those prime times of animals but it is very tiring and taxing as the concentration is at 200%. We had a great trip saw some amazing country and my group learnt so much. Check out the testimonials for yourself. I did not hold back and got out safely when we needed too for the best light and locations, thats always my promise to my clients and something I stand by in all my trips.

For 2 years in a row I have managed to take out 2 categories for a win. In 2016 it was landscape and botanical and this year it was landscape and the portfolio prize which is what I was trying for. The first in the landscape category was a bonus. Unfortunately I was just about to start my Flinders Tour when the presentation night was on and could not make it down to the SA National Museum but I had my friend Paula go down and grab some photos and video for me. I got bombarded with phone calls from the ABC wanting interviews and said no to all apart from one Annette Marner from regional SA as she always supports me and was happy to wait until I finished my tour. My 6 images are now part of the exhibition which is currently in the SA National Museum on display and then travels all around Australia throughout the year. Do yourself a favour and go and have a look at the great work people are doing you wont be disappointed.
