About This Workshop

Come and join me in Coober Pedy in remote South Australia and the Breakaways. Be pleasantly surprised by the photo opportunities both stunning landscape and old memorabilia and an underground mine there are unique photo opportunities everywhere. Do a scenic flight over Lake Eyre for the wow factor. Walk around town do a mine tour and of course visit the Breakaways.

Small group only max 4 for max impact. Get in quick!

Please NO beginners.

You may also want to add to your own itinary a scenic flight over the area and maybe Lake Eyre. This is the perfect location to base yourself for a few days. This workshop includes post production tuition and critique sessions.

Learn how to get the best out of this region specifically the Breakaways which is a unique and stunning location where we will be for majority of sunsets and sunrises practising with compositions and using different light and lenses. Knowing an area well is when you will get the best out it. Blowing in for a day will set you up for failure evey time especially when your still learning. If your serious about improving your photography skills this workshop is for you.

I will show you some different ways of tackling all types of light and composition and problem solving. Understanding light is crucial for great images and this is where most people fall over. I will demonstrate how you can acheive unique shots by manipulating light in the field.

We will split our time between here and town doing some other photography projects.

Self drive or fly yourself or add this in as part of your travels or flight over Lake Eyre which is looking brilliant right now. There are flights to Coober Pedy and hire cars available. Coober Pedy is a 10 hour drive from Adelaide. You choose your own options for accomodation or camping depending on your budget and how your travelling. Flights are available from Coober Pedy over Lake Eyre and the Painted Desert. Coober Pedy has many options for meals and accomodation and several caravan parks.

We will meet in Coober Pedy Friday for an introduction and lunch before we head out to our first location for the afternoon into the evening.

We will be out for all 3 sunsrises and 3 sunsets and at least 1 astro night shoot over the course of the 3 days. During the day we will be doing some photography around town and doing a mine tour and walk for those who want to or you can choose to do a scenic flight or your own thing. We will also be doing our 2 post production and critiques sessions during the day slotted in around our photography. This is a flexible workshop leaving plenty of time to revisit and reshoot or just revisit because you want to try something someone else has done. We will have plenty of time for individual help and questions in post production also. This workshop is perfect for those still finding their way in both camera and or post production.

Sunrise shoot and finish.

Tuition And Guidance

Small groups only for the best results. 1 on 1 tuition in the field. No one gets left out. Everyone has a chance to shine even the quiet ones.

I will be there to help you achieve and capture the best results you can with your camera and having a small group allows everyone to seek help and shine no matter what level they are at. Group critique gives everyone a chance to see how others have captured certain scenes and allows the creative juices to flow giving everyone a helping hand to see things differently and try new angles or techniques.
